A Brief Look Back: Tradition Since 1903
The company was founded in 1903 by Alfred Kron in Solingen-Ohligs with only three employees. Initially, springs were the focus of production. Under the following generations – Günter Kron (from 1931), Axel Kron (from 1965) and Philipp Kron (from 2000) – the company grew continuously. As early as the 1950s, the switch to electric-motor-driven machines took place; in 1965, EDP and CAD systems were added. In 1995, certification to ISO 9001 followed, later followed by further automotive and environmental standards. Throughout all decades, the Solingen site was retained – the city of blades has always stood for the highest metal processing quality.

The focus of Alfred Kron GmbH is on the present: as a modern manufacturer of stamped-bent parts and specialist for complex stamped parts, the company produces around 1 billion parts annually – which corresponds to an average of around 400,000 parts per hour. With an annual turnover of approximately 18 million euros, around 90 employees at the Solingen plant and an office and production area of approximately 10,000 sqm, Kron is one of the most capable providers in the industry.
The company's strength lies in complete in-house production – from in-house design and our own toolmaking through production to on-time delivery. All processes take place under one roof in Solingen. This guarantees the highest precision, short throughput times and maximum flexibility for batch sizes from small to large series.
Extensive Machine Fleet and Modern Manufacturing Technologies
The state-of-the-art machine fleet comprises systems from leading manufacturers such as BIHLER, Bruderer, Andritz Kaiser, Raster, Arburg and Netstal. With stamping and stamping-bending machines up to 160 tons of pressing force, material thicknesses from 0.15 to 4.00 mm as well as high-precision injection molding systems, Kron processes steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals and plastics.

Hybrid Production of Metal and Plastic
Particularly noteworthy is the hybrid production of metal stamped-bent parts and plastic injection molding. Metal and plastic components are combined in an efficient process – ideal for innovative assemblies in e-mobility, electrical engineering or medical technology. This is complemented by the in-house hardening shop (heat treatment), trowal systems (vibratory grinding) as well as surface treatment and assembly. The blistering (tape & reel) of the smallest parts also takes place completely in-house.
