Input Material & geometry Strip material Density manual g/cm³ Override the density manually for special alloys, coated strip or hybrid strip. Strip width b mm Strip thickness t mm Feed vper stroke mm Output n p/str The feed is the strip length consumed per press stroke. The output is the number of parts per stroke, e.g. with a multi-row progressive compound tool. Batch size Quantity & allowance Target quantity pcs Allowance % Scrap and safety allowance on strip length and weight for lead-in, strip start/end and rejects. V_part [mm³] = (b × t × v) / n Gross weight_part [g] = V_part [cm³] × density ρ [g/cm³] Strip length [m] = (target quantity / n) × v [mm] / 1000 × (1 + allowance) Coil weight [kg] = π/4 × (OD² – ID²) × b [mm²·mm] × ρ / 1,000,000 Gross ≠ net: The calculator shows the strip input before stamping. Hole scrap and slugs reduce the actual finished part weight, and by how much depends on the individual part geometry. The coil formula is a geometric approximation without winding air gaps; real coil weights vary with supplier and strip tension. These are guide values for pre-costing – send us your drawing and we will work out the exact strip requirement and strip layout for you.
